David A. DeLo is a director of The Academy. His responsibilities include financial institution consulting and marketing. David has served on the staff of the Executive Office of the President under Lyndon Johnson, the Office of Economic Opportunity as Deputy for Planning, the Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders, and the Advanced Sea Based Deterrent Study. He was President of Financial Planners Equity Corporation, a NASD Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor, and President of The Greenwich Group Inc, an investment banking firm which acquired Newburger Loeb & Co, Inc, a NYSE member firm, both of which were sold together in 1979. David has been Chairman and Director of Newburger Loeb & Co, DeYoung Advisory Group, Ltd., Newport Balboa Savings, and Director of other public and private corporations and foundations. He was co-founder of Southport Financial Corporation with Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1984, and President of Southport Asset Management Corporation, managing in excess of $5 Billion USD for financial institutions, regulatory authorities and corporate pension accounts, retiring in 1994. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and The Washington College School of Law.
